Working with selected community agencies, BMF provides grants to low-income families to meet their children’s health, education and recreation needs. The grants are intended for families already engaged with those agencies and working towards self-sufficiency. The grants are time-limited and also have a financial limit. Although this program focuses primarily on families, we also provide grants for youth living independently who are in financial need.
Partnering agencies refer families to BMF. Our grants administrators work with the families to determine their children’s needs and decide on the grant allocations. There is a limit to the number of families each agency can refer. Please note that the grants are intended solely for the children in the families as we do not provide grants for those 21 years of age and over.
The following are our 10 Families Moving Forward partnering organizations:
- Aspen Family Services
- Boys and Girls Clubs of Calgary
- Calgary Catholic Immigration Society
- Calgary Immigrant Women’s Association
- Discovery House
- North East Family Connections Society
- Salvation Army
- South East Calgary Community Resource Centre
There are no openings for new partnering community agencies at this time.
